| Biography: | Carl gained his first degree in Engineering from Portsmouth before joining the Royal Engineers where he spent 16 years leading teams of up to 160 personnel on a wide variety of engineering projects in arduous conditions across the globe. On completion of his MSc he became a Chartered Engineer with the IMechE. His engineering passion has always been with energy and this, coupled with his ability to build and nurture teams led naturally to the formation of Prescient Power Ltd, a renewable energy consultancy and product supplier. Having seen highly competent people disregarded in deference to shareholder pressure, he was determined to provide a business ethic that truly valued employee and client alike. As well being a charity trustee, Carl is very active within his both his Church and local community and has recently established "Ashby 2020" - a community led sustainability initiative for the 13,000 residents, businesses and organisations of Ashby de la Zouch in Leicestershire. He enjoys triathlon, skiing, squash and DIY, is married to Rebecca and they have four children. |

Her pre-search professional background includes dot.com, commercial sales & manufacturing with legal and entrepreneurial start-up experience and she is a Licentiate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development. |

seen a broad range of roles including manufacturing development, project
management, logisitics and supply. Now
specialising in supply chain management , he is also engaging with an MSc in

Kate read Engineering at Cambridge, graduating in 1992. She was commissioned into the Royal Engineers in 1993 where she held exciting appointments ranging from bomb disposal to covert surveillance. In addition to deploying on military operations and leading up to 200 personnel, she gained an MSc in construction engineering, is a Chartered Engineer, and a member of the Institute of Engineering Technology (IET). |

| Biography: | Geoff read Electrical Engineering at Manchester graduating in 1966. His groundbreaking career in British Telecommunications saw him pioneer high capacity digital microwave radio systems, advanced antennas, and automated test equipment. Later he contributed to the design and implementation of intelligent telephony networks. Geoff then worked in the Cote D’Azur, France where he participated and led several specialised task forces developing standards for Internet telephony, network management and the integration of fixed and mobile networks. He has written several technical courses for Ossidian covering third generation Mobile Telephony systems. Geoff continues to pursue his passion for electrical engineering. By operating at both board level and maintaining his accredited electrician status, he is ideally placed to ensure all projects are executed on time and budget and in a thoroughly professional manner. |

| Biography: | Deborah graduated with First Class honours in Engineering from Nottingham Trent University, going on to gained top student on the Mechanical Engineering MSc at Leicester, and has recently completed her PhD in photovoltaics at Nottingham. She is a member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers. This academic rigour is matched by her cutting edge experience in sustainability, having lived in the BASF house for 15 months whilst employed by the Architecture and Built Environment Department at Nottingham University. Her commercial background includes work for Monodraught, Johnson Diversey and Whitfield Solar where her computational modelling and design skills have been maximised. Deborah loves the outdoors and physical activities such as walking, climbing and mountaineering. |

| Biography: | Katie graduated from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow with a Masters with Distinction in Mechanical Engineering in 1999. She worked for a couple of years with one of the world’s leading engineering consultancies, Arups, in Sheffield designing mechanical services for large public buildings before going to the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) in Wales to work in the engineering department there. During her 6 years at CAT, Katie designed, installed, operated and maintained the various renewable energy systems on the site – wind, hydro, pv, solar thermal, wood fuelled heating including a district heating system. Within her role she also carried out consultancies on the various renewable technologies and taught on a range of the CAT courses including the two MScs, Sustainable Architecture, and Renewable Energy in the Built Environment. In 2008 Katie moved to Berlin, Germany to teach on theoretical and hands-on courses run by the Renewables Academy (www.renac.de) on large-scale solar thermal and small-scale hydro. Katie enjoys yoga and is a very keen ultimate frisbee player. |

| Biography: | After graduating in modern languages, Rebecca stayed on in education to gain a post-graduate certificate in education at Jesus College, Cambridge. Her early teaching career was an excellent foundation in bringing order to chaos, developing finely honed administrative skills, and working under pressure. These skills were invaluable in her later career with SSI Schaffer and Wycliffe Translators and as a speaker at a number of conferences. Speaking French, Italian, German and English is a tremendous asset in business that invariably involves international supply chains and a wide variety of clients. Rebecca enjoys skiing, walking, cooking and socialising. She has established community debt counselling services and is an active member of her local church. |

As well as enjoying and running social activities, he is a 3rd brown in Shukokai Karate and is a keen all-round sportsman. |

| Biography: | As well as graduating in English from De Montfort University in 2008, Gemma has won awards in Young Enterprise competitions. Playing a very strong hand in communication skills, both administratively with the county council and more recently in writing for the acclaimed regional fashion and lifestyle magazine "69", she is a valuable addition to the Prescient Team to help us convey the practicalities of the technical world in a straightforward and intelligible way. Gemma has a passion for ethical business, has coached in after-school mentoring programmes, and enjoys life's simple pleasures including reading, socialising and walking in the countryside. |
