Cancellation of Low Carbon Buildings Programme funding

On Wednesday the Low Carbon Buildings Programme (LCBP) announced it was ceasing all further grant allocations under Phase 1 and Phase 2.
Many domestic customers were particularly disappointed to miss out on up to £2500 grant funding for their renewable installations, util we pointed out that changes in feed-in tariff more than make up for the loss.

Some wondered why the closure was quite so sudden, considering the scheme was due to run until 1 April 2010. We suggest that had they announced any early closure with notice, the online application system would have been swamped, causing chaos.
