Hydroelectric Turbines

In hydroelectric installations, the potential energy of water at a higher location is converted to kinetic energy by turning a turbine to produce electricity.
Micro hydro schemes (under 100kW) have become increasingly attractive because of innovation in turbine manufacture, and water sources which may once have been too small may now be considered as useful energy sources ranging from a few hundred watts for domestic schemes tens of kilowatts for commercial schemes.
