What the client wanted
Set in the beautiful farming land of rural Oxfordshire, D’Oyleys farm were keen to invest in solar panels to offset some of the running costs of their farm.
Already juggling a very full life with an army career, running a working farm and studying for a MBA in Agriculture, Mr White realised that solar PV was too good an opportunity to miss with the savings that he could make on his electricity bills, whilst also making use of the Feed-in Tariff to generate additional income.
Originally a 50 kW system, we worked hard to reduce costs and scale down designs to fit to a barn on the property. Clever design by our chartered engineers ensured that we came in £5,000 lower on costs than competitors. Output was maximised by efficiency plans, including mounting the inverter high to generate as much energy as possible. To top it all off, we carried out a small repair to the barn roof whilst we were there, a service that we offer free of charge for any small issues that we find whilst we are carrying out our work.
The end result
Mr White commented:
“Throughout the planning process the project manager guided us through all the requirements and decoded the technical jargon. We needed to complete the project against a tight timeline – Prescient Power were always there with a prompt of what we needed to do next and provided sound advice and guidance. The installation was completed efficiently, on time with minimum fuss and made allowances for our ongoing farming operations. In summary, we are delighted with the work that Prescient Power did to complete our Solar PV installation – they provided a very competitive quotation and the system is already performing beyond what we expected. We would have no hesitation in recommending them.”
